Satisfaction with local schools is an important quality-of-life concern for military families. In an effort to measure parent and student satisfaction, the US Pacific Command and Hawaii Public Schools established an annual Hawaii School Survey. This project involves a survey of all military families with students enrolled in Hawaii Public Schools to determine current levels of satisfaction with the schools and potential areas of dissatisfaction for continuous improvement. SRG has conducted the last two waves of this survey effort.
Services included:
mail-out survey to over 7,000 parents of students enrolled in HPS as well as students in grades 5-12,
development and administration of a Web-based survey option, and
data management and analysis.
SRG prepared a comprehensive report, including a regression analysis which incorporated school-level demographics to predict satisfaction with the schools. In addition to parent and student attitudes, each survey is complemented with an analysis of students' standardized test scores to provide an objective assessment of student performance. Each year SRG prepares a comprehensive report, an executive summary, and presents the findings to key stakeholders.
